Emails are used for quick communication to individuals or large groups.  An email can range form friendly to very formal, and can be text-only or contain attached documents. Internet (intranet) communication is often used when information needs to be conveyed quickly, or a large group needs to be sent a brief memo.

Tips For Email

Check frequently for updates or time-sensitive material

Check for attachments or forwarded comments

Email is monitored via the company intranet

Use only for appropriate business communication

Do not use uppercase letters (yelling)

Avoid abbreviations used in personal email and chat rooms
